An educational AI tool from The Rooted Misfits

Helping patients, caregivers and curious minds better understand peer-reviewed medical research through clear, balanced, evidence-based summaries.

🌿 Rooted in Nature. Misfits by Choice.

Welcome

Medical research can be difficult to read—even for healthcare professionals.

Rooted Research helps translate peer-reviewed medical studies into plain language while highlighting both the strengths and limitations of the evidence.

Whether you're a patient, caregiver, student, healthcare professional or simply curious, our goal is to help you better understand published research—not replace professional medical advice.

A DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a permanent identification number assigned to many published research papers. It allows Rooted Research to locate the paper and retrieve its publicly available information.

A DOI often looks like:

10.1016/j.eclinm.2026.103926
https://doi.org/10.1016/j.eclinm.2026.103926

You can usually find it:

  • near the paper title
  • on the first page of the paper
  • within the publication details
  • on the journal webpage
or

📄 Upload the Research Paper PDF

If you already have the complete research paper, simply upload the PDF.

Uploading the full paper usually provides a more comprehensive report because many journals only make the abstract publicly available through the DOI.

The PDF should ideally contain the complete published paper.

Supported format: ✔ PDF

Why are some reports more detailed than others?

Not every research paper is freely available.

Some journals publish their articles as Open Access, allowing anyone to read the complete paper. Other journals require a paid subscription or institutional access before the full paper can be viewed.

When only the abstract is publicly available, Rooted Research will clearly indicate that the report has been generated using the available abstract rather than the complete publication.

If you have access to the full paper, uploading the PDF will usually produce a more detailed and comprehensive report.
